What is the average income in Uber Manila?

How much does an Uber Manila partner earn per month? Let us analyze as there are people who emails us and asked us about the average income and maybe this can help you to create a business plan if you are considering to be an independent contractor of Uber Manila.

Let us say that the partner worked for himself and he already owns the car that he's driving. We are talking about the average and we will not include the incentives as we all know incentives are just bonuses when you completed a goal, take note that Uber Manila can remove the incentives anytime just like what we have experienced earlier this year for almost 3 months.

The average that the passengers usually billed is PHP 120 and the average trip can a driver make per day would be 12. So if we compute the average trips with the average earnings per trip that would be P1,440 per day. If the partner drives for 6 days that would be PHP 8,640 per week, and that would be PHP 34,560 per month gross.

Now let us deduct the expenses. An average gas consumption would cost P3000 per week if the driver is efficient, but it can blowup up to P4000 per week, so that would be PHP 12,000 to PHP 16000, now let us deduct the gas expense on the gross income which is PHP 34,560 and after the gas what's left is PHP 18560 - PHP22,560. Of course you should also consider the food expense, average food expenses are around PHP 150 and that would be P3600 per month, deduct the food expense on what's left and that would be PHP 14,960 - PHP 18,960.

Average Trip x Average payment per trip = average income per day

12x120 = PHP 1,440 (Uber fee deducted)

Average income per day x days of driving = average income per week
1,440 x 6 = PHP 8,650 per week

Average income per week x 4 weeks = average gross income per month

8,650 x 4 = PHP 34,560 gross

Expenses and deductions
Average gas consumption = P3,000 - P4,000 per week
Food expense = P150 / day

Net income per month = PHP 14,960 to PHP 18,960 + incentive bonus (depends on the promotion per week or if any)

So an average income of an Uber Manila partner per month would be PHP 14,960 to PHP 18,960 net plus the incentive bonus per week or if any, and if he also drives his own car and if he already owns the car.

This might be a promising business, but our advice would be, build a proper business plan to succeed in this venture. You can't earn t earn this figure if you don't have a business plan or goal and also if the driver is inefficient.

What about if the partner just recently bought his car under a loan?

Well, just do the math, if the car being amortized cost around PHP 20,000. Without the incentives, you are surely going to have a negative income. The safest would be, getting a car which is lower than PHP 15,000 so that you can earn. Also make sure to have an emergency fund for at least 5 months that can cover the amortization just in case you get a bad month.

There are many ways you can utilize or create a strategy to increase your income by driving with Uber Manila, but as for now, study the business, and consider this table for Uber Manila average income per month.

    1. You just need to deduct 40% on the earning as it will be your driver's income if you set a 60/40 (operator/driver) sharing income.

  2. Hi, I am one of your referrals. I would just like to ask, since I will have a prof driver drive my car. How will the maintenance (PMS) be divided bet. the driver and owner? or it is the responsibility of the owner only? I am concerned with my cars maintenance in the long run.

    1. Hi,

the operator should shoulder the cost of the maintenance, it's the responsibility of the operator.

  3. Who needs to buy the device to be used? Is it the driver or the operator?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Hi THEREDVEGETARIAN,

This will all depend on the agreement between the driver and the operator.

If the device will be the property of the driver, the operator could invest on it first and just deduct a cut or portion of the driver's earning till it's enough to pay the amount invested by the operator.

If the device will still be the property of the operator. Then the driver's income shouldn't be deducted. But if the driver broke the device then the operator can still charge it to the driver.

Again this will all depend on the driver and operator's agreement.

Do you have any calculation for return of investment? and I will hire my drivers, how much total monthly income will get? and what is the total payments I need for registering in Uber? Is there Uber services in Bacolod area or Cebu? Is it a good investment?

  15. Uber is a business, you need a proper business plan and business strategy in order for you to earn. Just like in any orher business, if you didn't plan it well, then it's not a good investment.

Im an uber driver for just a couple of weeks. Just want to know if how can I withdraw or get my earnings from uber?
    Thanks

  17. Hi Robby,

your earning should be 1k or above (accumulated) before uber releases your payout.

    ReplyDelete
  18. What about surcharges? This is assuming that the 12 trips are all normal rates.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Hi PABN,

Yes surges are not in the picture, all trips are just normal fares. It's really hard to compute the average if there's a surge as surge prices differ from a point to another and it also depends on the surge increase.

    ReplyDelete
  20. hi there! i just want to ask if how long would i need to drive to get the average 12 trips per day. is it 8 hours? thanks in advance :)

  21. Hi Jerand,

It will depend on you/ your driver strategy. But yes, if you are doing it right you can attain 12 trips in less than 8 hours.

  22. Hi how much will be the total expenses for application as uber operator? Is there a fee that need to be paid to uber?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hi Gemmy, there's no fee upon registering on Uber. But there's a fee for the tnvs application on which you will need to pay to the LTFRB (Uber will handle every transaction to the LTFRB).

The tnvs application cost around 3k-4k but can be deductable on your weekly payout on Uber.

  26. Hi! I was wondering, if your estimated earnings daily is around P1.4k (excluding surge rate), what other incentives would there be to start an Uber franchise?
We operated a regular taxi franchise before, the boundary itself is P1.5k/day. The driver's cut is already deducted from that amount.
So in terms of daily earning, it seems that the boundary from a regular taxi is bigger than that of Uber? Or does your computation used a more conservative figure?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hi Charles Stephen,

The estimated calculated daily earnings is just a conservative amount, as we have said, the surge price isn't included on the calculation and it may vary depending of the circumstances. Yes, we could safely say that taxi/cab drivers earn more than an Uber drivers at this point, but once the market transfer from the traditional to technology such as uber, it'll mostly go up.

As per statistics only 10% of the commuters are being serviced by uber or an app based transport in the Philippines since 90% doesn't have a credit card/debit card yet.

  114. Hello Admin,

My friend is selling me his car with Uber registration. If I buy the car, how can the Uber registration be transferd?

    ReplyDelete
  115. Hi Neil Sagun,

Here's what you could do. Make sure the vehicle is already under his name so request a transfer of title. Once the car is already in your name, you could now register on Uber.

The Easy way is just let the uber account to be named under your friend and just update the banking info by going to http://vault.uber.com so the payout will be sent to your bank info..

after his tnvs application expired you can now transfer the vehicle to you and request an update of ownership on the account by going to the Uber office. Hope this helps

  116. Hi Admin,
    Good day!
Just wanna ask if you have a sample contract between Operator and driver.
Also if ever the driver will have the car 24/7, who will have the maintenance?
    Thanks..

    ReplyDelete
  117. Hi Gracelyn Atencio,

This will really depend on what are the agreement between you the operator and the driver. Our contract is totally different as it is tailored on our needs and agreed discussion between us and our drivers.

We just downloaded a sample contract agreement for a driver operator business on Google and just changed some details of it. About the maintenance this will also depends on the agreement between the operator and driver.. for us we have a 60/40 share, and 80/20 split on incentives but we shoulder the maintenance..

  119. Hi Ruth,

The toll fee will be included on the fare po, pero ang driver po muna ang mag shoshoulder while on trip then uber will match it up on the final pay statement.

I am a lady driver who is planning to sign up and use my own car, would being a LADY driver a problem?

What does TNVS stands for and what is its purpose?

  121. Hello Admin.

Pwede po ba ipasok sa uber if yung vehicle is under tfs. Paano po ba ang procedures. Mabibigyan din ba ng Cpc and tnvs. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  122. Hi Bryan Pre,

Yes most of the partners have vehicles under a tfs. Same process like the normal stuff.

  123. Hi Mylene,

Here's the answers to your questions.

    1. Yes, it is accepted in Uber. If you register within this year, your vehicle can be used in uber for 7 years or till 2022.

    2. Yung pay out po ayun po yung kita nyo sa isang linggo (monday to sunday) and nirerelease po ito usually tuesday to thursday evening. Yung Uber fee naman po ay yun ang kita ni Uber from you because you are using Uber application to monetize your vehicle which is 25% of every trip you've made. Wala na pong Uber fee sa incentives.

    3. Wala pong problem if you are a female. If you are referring to safety, educated naman po lahat ng clients/passenger ng Uber. Pero syempre not all the time nmn po eh we could please the passenger may mga times na may maisasakay kang grumpy and etc but not to the extent na your life is in danger.

    4. TNVS po stands for Transport Network Vehicle System.. it's a franchise that you need to pay to operate as a special transport network under a tnc and required by LTFRB.

  124. Hi po,professional driver's license lang po ba ang pwede? Im planning to join uber kaso nasa news na di muna tumatanngap ng application sa ngayon sana maging ok na soon. Thanks po

    ReplyDelete
  125. hi vicbie96,

opo professional driver's license lang po ang pwede mag drive.. yup nasa news po and ltfrb had an official statement na hindi muna tatanggap ng new tnvs application till further notice while they review everything..

  126. hi uber admin,

interested in joining as an operator...some queries lang po...

    1. is moratorium on new applications now lifted? if not kelan kaya?
    2. is 60-40 sharing for operator-driver the generally accepted set-up?
    3. just want to clarify, if a riding customer is charged 120, 25% of that is
deducted as uber fee? then whats left is what you will share with your employee driver?

    thanks

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hi Boyax,

    1. Tnvs application is still suspended till further notice however uber still accept new partners.
    2. Majority uses 60/40 but it is really upto you if you see it as a profitable margin.
    3. Yes

  128. Hi admin.
Question po. Kasama ba ang mirage g4 sa mga posibleng di na pde sa uber? Yun po sana ipapasok ko eh. If 12.5k ang amortization per month, then kuha ng driver na 50/50 agreement, on an average, may kita pa nmn siguro operator after amortization dba? At di n rin lugi driver? Thanks po.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Hi Mirage G4,

Looking at the posibility mirage g4 is somewhat safe if you take a look at the memorandum circular for taxi they are accepting mirage g4 (sedan) as a puv.

Yes from 18k(ma) and below the operator can still earn in Uber

  130. Hi Admin,

    1. Tnvs application is still suspended till further notice however uber still accept new partners.

Question po: When you say TNVS is still suspended, can i still apply ba sa UBER as an operator and maka byahe ba ako once ma release na yung car?

    2. Will you be able to help us for car loan? What are the requirements to submit sa UBER?

    3. Who will process our application for mobile internet? and how much will be?

    ReplyDelete
  131. Hi Ryan Altre,

1.) Yes you still could. However we advise that you need to submit the necessary requirements for TNVS so once LTFRB lift the suspension for processing new application, you'll get a que.

2.) Nope, but we know a few agents that can help you just email as at tudmanila@gmail.com so we could assist you.

    3. We advise that you use a prepaid network, this will save you a lot of hassle in the long run and could save a lot money than applying for a postpaid line.

Hope this help, please email us if you have further questions as we could reply asap on email than in here.

  133. Hi Admin,

    QUESTION:

    1. After 5 years ba hindi na pwede bumyahe yung car ko for uber?
For example: 2016 model yung car, sa year 2021 out na ako sa uber?

    2. If kumuha ako ng 2nd hand car na 2013 model then this year lang ako
nag pa register kay uber ng 2016, sa year 2019 hindi na pwde ako mag uber?

    THANKS IN ADVANCE :)

    ReplyDelete
  134. Hi EYR,

1.Tnvs franchise or license is good for 7 years. So if your vehicle is 2015 you can use it for Uber till 2022

    2. As per ltfrb rule the vehicle should be 2 years below of the current year. If 2016 the accepted vehilces are 2014 and up and for 2017 accepted vehicles are from 2015 and up how ever if you registered your 2014 vehicle for this year it could operate till 2021

The main title covers only uber x right?
How about uber black? What is your projection?
Is it smarter to pursue uber black business than uber x?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Hi James Cachuela,

Yes all of the post for this blog is related to Uber X but don't worry we are already creating a blog specifically for Uber Black :) Hope you guys could support it too...

  146. Hello po admin ano kaibahan ng Uber black sa Uber X new po aku and im planning to get a car and register it to Uber. Better po bah Avanza or Hyundai na diesel

    ReplyDelete
  147. Hi Regino,

Uber black is the premium service of uber which consist of premium vehicles like mercedez, fortuner, bmw and etc. while for uber x would be the typical type of sedans and sub compact vehicles. About your second question it is actually a self preference.

    ReplyDelete
  148. Another question ano po yung code na sinasabi nila when you register as a partner in Uber Thank you

    ReplyDelete
  149. Hi Regino,

It is an invite code of the referrer. This will give him a chance to earn additional income after you complete your first 10 trips. For instances our invite code is LFW3V if you signup on Uber and use the code this will give us a chance to earn by referring you or by you using it.

  150. If ever bang maging partner ng uber at this time eh pwede na bumiyahe o hintayin pa ba ang lift ng suspension sa approval ng LTFRB.

    ReplyDelete
  151. Hi Gene,

As long po na activated pwede na. About nmn sa question po na pano po pag nahuli dahil wala pang PA. The answer po is as long as you comply with ltfrb requirements uber will help you out. You still need to submit the requirements to Uber po.

  152. Hi,

I am planning to join uber next month and my preferred vehicle is a toyota vios. Can i earn as much as 800 to 1,000 pesos if i drive only for 4-5 hrs after duty? Probably from 6pm to 11pm. I just want to know it from your expert opinion. Tnx in advance.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Hi IamMark,

Yes it is possible to earn 800-1k gross income during that timeframe but this will depend on the surge pricing and how traffic the area you will be starting. But on most cases, if you hit the surges you could earn more during that time frame.
