According to an article from Manila Bulletin. LTFRB board member Atty. Ariel Inton stated that all puv, including TNVS (Transport Network Vehicle Service) should have the new LTFRB hotline "1342" marked on the vehicle's body.

It seems that this is connected with the incident last Sept 24 between a passenger and UBER driver.

"if we really want to protect the riding public, TNVS should also have the hotline number on the body on their unit very visible" Atty. Inton said in a phone interview with the Philippine News Agency.

Our thoughts

This could be a hard blow to some of the partners, although if it is required, we need follow it. What bothers us here is there's already an existing hotline number before, but did it help the commuters? I mean there are literally crimes happened on taxi's but did the hotline number helped?

I think LTFRB should focus more on social media awareness, if they really want to educate the commuters about the hotline.

Instead of the TNVS they should clean other PUV's first. There are a lot of unfit vehicles that can cause major road accidents. TNC's have the details of all the partners, so if ever a crime happens (a chance of it is around 0.0001% likely to happen),TNC's can provide the info to LTFRB or PNP unlike the cabs or taxi's. There are no data of the taxi or cab driver being given to LTFRB.

What about you guys? Are you in favor of the LTFRB hotline number being marked on your cars?
