What's next after Uber Manila?
2:13 PMWhat's next? Well some of us who ran this blog have decided that we'd still share our experience with new TNVS drivers. Our experience after a few years stints in Uber Manila might be useful to new TNVS drivers who might need tips on the road.
Now that Uber had sold its rights to Grab, what's should be next? We understand that Uber did a right thing from a falling market, but we are afraid that Grab will somehow experience oppression from LTFRB because since Grab will be the sole company under a TNC contract.
This means that the government agencies might use "monopoly" as an excuse to make it much harder for TNVS to thrive. As you know there are other UBER-like companies who are willing to take the risk and join the market but LTFRB is already shutting them down before they can even join and play.
In our honest opinion on what is happening in ride-sharing is super scary. If this went on, we are sure Grab will also try to weigh things out if it's still worth the trouble to continue even if they are losing money.
Expect that it'll be much harder starting from here, market drops, and more crazy memorandum just to stop the monopolization.
To all Uber Drivers in Manila, we salute you guys and good luck. We are still here to give insights, we may not be driving anymore but feel free to ask us about our experience and maybe you guys can learn from it.
