Double Pay Of Fare In Grab Car, Is it really okay?
2:42 PMSome of the passengers right now are already complaining about what's happening to Grab. These double pay incidents are already alarming as it is now being called as a new modus? Let's tackle this topic in this article.
Is it really okay to ask for a double fare to your passengers?
Honestly, no, but according to Grab drivers, they are permitted to ask for a double fare only if it's outside of Metro Manila. It's because there aren't any passengers going back to Metro Manila at least let us assume that's already super far like, Bulacan, Tagaytay, Batangas.
We really don't know what boundaries Grab car operates but the thing is some drivers are taking advantage of it. There are already a lot of complaints about this matter and if this really gets out of hand you'll know what's next and yes it's Game Over for Grab.
Since the current state of Grabcar is already in the monopoly status. The government can shut it down with the use of R.A. No. 10667.
What will happen if this continues?
Either Grabcar will be shut down or Grabcar will face charges like administrative cases, paying fines, and eventually being revoked to operate their services in the Philippines.
Even James Deakin a supporter of ridesharing in the Philippine is already asking this that this got to stop.
Other passengers have said that this kind of behavior is already happening even before Uber Manila tried to exit the Philippine Market and that's why some of them opted in riding Uber than in Grab.
There are some instances that when a passenger declined and complained to the driver, Grabcar drivers will cancel the request. Is this power tripping? Those who do this shouldn't be driving passengers on the road. Their privilege to earn using Grabcar should be revoked.
Think of this, passengers opted out to ride taxi/cabs because of the following:
- They ask for an additional fee on top of the meter fare
- Sometimes they are asking for a contracted price
- Not safe
- Not convenient
- A lot of modus and scam
Now, that we have a privilege to use our vehicles and earn driving passengers as a premium service, are we just going to do what the taxi/cab drivers are doing before so we could earn more? It's not about who did it, it should be stopped right now. If it doesn't all of us will lose our chances and many clients/passengers will just opt out and look for another alternative.
It'll be the start of the downfall, it's a no-brainer.
Conclusion
This is really not good for the ride-sharing community, if this really gets out of hand, we will lose it all. We are sure that passengers can understand the situation if it's outside Metro Manila but don't do this if the ride is within Metro Manila.
