Are Drivers going to be safe in Grab Car Philippines?
1:43 PMOne thing we liked about Uber Manila before is the safety of the partners/drivers. Not long ago, it's really sad to hear that one of the best Gab Drivers had been in an unfortunate event. We know that the suspect is already in jail but the question is, will this thing not gonna happen again? Is there any preventive measure that Grab will do in order for this not to happen again?
In Uber Manila, before a passenger can use the service they need to have a credit card in order to sign up as a passenger. This will lessen the risk that we face on the road because of the following.
- Before you can get a credit card, you must provide ITR, Personal Details and etc to the bank you are applying for. So this means that if anything happens to us drivers Uber can easily track the passenger who's using the service at the time if any incident happened.
- When Uber rolled out its cash payment, they still required a debit card or virtual debit card such as paymaya and gcash before the passenger can use the cash payment. You still need to verify your identity to paymaya or gcash before you can use their virtual debit card.
We know that in Grab, you only need a smartphone, and a sim card (which can always be bought anywhere) then you can register as a passenger. Without any validation, anyone can use the service. That's why we still drove with Uber than Grab even though grab provides a much larger earning opportunities.
So are drivers going to be safe driving in Grab? We guess so, but we hope that Grab has some preventive measure so that this will not happen again.
We always think about the safety of the drivers because we know that drivers can provide 5-star experience for the passengers. This article is solely based on our opinion, our goal here is to raise awareness.
